5052 5083 Aluminum Sheet for Heavy Truck Air Reservoir

The air reservoir is an important part of the heavy-duty truck braking system. It functions as energy storage, filtration, voltage stabilization, and cooling. There are many materials for manufacturing gas storage cylinders. Compared with iron air reservoir, the surface of aluminum is easy to naturally produce a dense and strong protective film of AL2O3, which can well protect the substrate from corrosion and has a longer service life than iron gas storage cylinders. In addition, the aluminum alloy air reservoir is lighter in weight than the iron air reservoir, has a high recovery rate, and is environmentally friendly.

AW 5083 aluminium and 5052 alloy are two aluminum alloys used for making aluminium air reservoir. 5083 aluminum plate has good corrosion resistance and easy processability. Compared with traditional steel, 5083 aluminum alloy has better corrosion resistance, which can effectively prevent the gas reservoir from being corroded and extend its service life. At the same time, 5083 aluminum alloy is also very easy to process and can be processed through stamping, welding and other processes into car body parts of various shapes and sizes to meet the needs of different application scenarios.

5083 aluminum sheet is with a high magnesium alloy content. It is a high-hardness magnesium-aluminum alloy. The magnesium (Mg) content can reach between 4.0% and 4.9%. Usually, the middle value of 4.5% is taken during the production process, so 5083 Aluminum plate is also called Almg4.5 aluminum alloy.

5083 aluminum alloy is mainly used in automobile lightweight, LNG tanker, shipbuilding, flange aluminum,etc. Among them, the aluminum used in LNG tanks and ships are 5083 aluminum plate. The thickness is basically above 6mm.

5052 aluminum alloy is a typical alloy in the 5xxx series alloys. The Mg content is between 2.2% and 2.8%. It is a low-Mg aluminum alloy that cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. It has medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability and easy processing and forming performance.

Mg is the only strengthening element in the alloy. 5052 aluminum plate has a certain solid solution strengthening effect and increases the work hardening rate of the alloy. The alloy can obtain more obvious strain strengthening.

5052H32 aluminum plate is an aluminum-magnesium alloy with a magnesium alloy content of about 2.5%. After stabilization treatment, it is in an incomplete annealed and hardened state, with a hardness of 1/4. Generally speaking, this product has strong corrosion resistance, good surface oxidation effect and good bending ability. It is a typical sheet metal material and is suitable for classic materials such as chassis and cabinets that require bending.
