How the aluminum plate for tanker helps to lift tanker load

The aluminum plate for tanker has become a load lifting helper of tankers around the world. It helps to lift load of a tanker in two ways: to reduce its self-weight and to cut down the residual rate.

As known to all, aluminum alloy has the advantage of light weight. The application of aluminum plates in tanker making will pulls down a tanker’s weight substantially. According to tanker manufacturers, a 28-ton powder tanker made of iron weighs 6 to 6.5 tons, but an aluminium one weighs only 4.9 tons, which means an extra 1 ton power for its engine. This extra power can be further used to transport more materials in the tank.

But aluminium tanker plates help to lift load in a less apparent way, too. Compared with iron tanks, the surface of aluminum tanks is smoother, so the internal residual rate of materials is lower. Generally, an iron tank often has about 150 kilograms of powder left after unloading, while aluminum cans only have about 80 kilograms left. This is actually equivalent to an additional 70 kilograms of weight in the iron can. Although 80kg is small for one journey of delivery, the accumulative amount is huge, and that’s related directly to transport cost!

The two factors above help aluminium tankers to transport over 1-ton material for each delivery journey, which saves lots of cost in freight. Therefore, the market share of aluminum tank trucks has been expanding in recent years. And the aluminum plate for tanker is increasingly popular.
