5182 Aluminium alloy for load tanker

5182 aluminium alloy for load tanker is popular in China, America, Australia and Europe. The introduction of aluminium alloy to tanker making caters for the environmental trend and makes a tanker lighter in weight and stronger in load. In comparison to tradition carbon steel tankers, an aluminum tanker weighs much less, sparing load of 1 ton for the material to be transported. With development in environmental protection and energy saving, aluminium alloys will play an increasingly important role in load tanker making and road transportation.

The aluminium alloy for load tankers are usually of plate type. 5182 aluminum plates of 5mm to 10mm are chosen to make bodies, head plates and baffles. The baffle plates, 5mm to 6mm thick, takes up one fourth of the total aluminum weight of a tanker. The surface requirements for baffle plates are poorer, for they are applied inside a tank. Therefore, surface film can be saved if you like. Baffle 5182 aluminum alloy is of O temper, so the baffle is tensile enough to withstand impact of shocks. The head plate is made of 5182 O aluminium plate alloy of 7mm or 7.2mm. Although it takes only 15% of the total aluminum weight of a tanker, the plate must meet strict thickness error and surface quality standards. But slight edge problems are acceptable, for the edge would be further processed anyway. The width for the battle plate 5182 aluminium is less than 2400mm. The tank body is made of 5182 O or H111 aluminum plate of 3mm to 10mm thick, and width up to 2600mm.

Our 5182 aluminium alloy for load tanker is up to the mustard of ADR. Its tensile strength and elongation are relatively high. By using 5182 aluminum alloy welding, the mechanical properties in the weld can reach the minimum value specified for the base metal. The excellent quality of 5182 alloy plate improves the safety of aluminum alloy tankers.
