5182 Aluminum Sheet for Truck
Aluminum alloy load tankers are currently used to transport oil, gasoline, chemicals, cement and other dense materials. Aluminum's non-combustible properties improve safety in vehicle crash situations. Its payback period is very short. Usually every 100,000 km if the vehicle's dead weight is reduced by one ton, the fuel can save about 1300 liters.
The application of aluminum sheet for commercial tankers was around 1940. 5454 aluminum alloy was used in tank cars in the early 1950's for it has good corrosion resistance. At present 5083, 5454 and 5182 aluminum sheet are the most common aluminum alloys for the tank ruck.
5182 aluminum plate is specially developed for tankers for storing and transporting dangerous goods.
It complies with the latest ADR (Agreement on the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road) regulations. The wall thickness needs to reach the required thickness under this regulations. This is the formula for calculating tank wall thickness under safe conditions:
With above mat., wall th. ≥ 6,6mm ; Rm x A = 6600 (Rm ≥ 275MPa, A ≥ 24%) wall thickness t = 5,3mm ; Rm x A = 7150 (Rm ≥ 275MPa, A ≥ 26%) wall thickness t = 5,0mm.
Using this material, the minimum thickness can reach 4mm when making a tank with a diameter of less than 1.8 meters; when making a tank with a diameter greater than 1.8 meters, the minimum thickness can reach 5mm, which has superior quality and safety performance.
