The Uses of 5754 Aluminum Alloy in Transportation

As a wrought alloy, 5754 aluminum alloy can be formed by rolling, extrusion, and forging. The common tempers are H111, H114, H22, H24, and H26. Two main differences dependent on temper are strength and hardness. It is widely used in transportation such as tanker truck, passenger car, ships,etc.

Tank Truck

The main materials used for the tanker cylinder are carbon steel and aluminum plate. Aluminum has been used in heavy freight vehicles for more than 80 years. Today, carbon steel tankers have been basically eliminated in developed countries such as Europe, the United States, Australia, and Japan, and aluminum alloy tankers have been adopted. 5754 aluminum alloy is a kind of material for making tank truck.

The 5754 aluminum sheet is of medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability and easy processing and forming. It is a typical Al-Mg alloy. It is a main material for making car doors. The car door occupies an important position in the design of the whole vehicle, which is related to the aesthetics of the shape, the safe driving and the realization of the functions of the accessories.

5754 marine aluminum plate is produced by hot rolling process, so the fatigue strength and welding performance of the plate are better than cast-rolled aluminum plate. 5754 aluminum plate is also called aluminium 3.3535. It is widely used in ship structures such as welded structures, storage tanks, and pressure vessels.
