5083 Sheet for Tanker Truck

The 5000 series aluminum alloy belongs to the more commonly used aluminum alloy plate. Its main element is Mg, about 3-5%. The main features of 5000 series aluminum alloy plate are low density and tensile strength under the same area. Its typical alloy grades are 5005, 5052, 5083, 5754, 5454, 5086, 5A05 aluminum alloys, etc.

As the main material of tanker truck, aluminum alloy has excellent corrosion resistance and high reuse value in addition to its light weight. 95% of aluminum alloys can be reused. Aluminum tanker plate are often used for oil,LNG and chemical liquid transportation.

5083 sheet is a typical AL-Mg anti-rust aluminum, which is characterized by excellent welding performance and good corrosion resistance. It is a reasonable combination of processability and low temperature performance. 5083 alloy has good welding performance and can be welded by various welding methods.

The strength of the weld can be equal to the strength of the matrix in the annealed state. At the same time, it has good ductility, cold formability, and reliable corrosion resistance. With the decrease of temperature, the tensile strength, yield strength and elongation of the base metal and welded joints all increase.

The magnesium content of 5754 aluminum alloy is is higher than that of 5052 aluminum plate, so the rust and corrosion resistance and tensile strength are also superior to those of 5052 aluminum sheet, which is suitable for the manufacture of chemical tanks.

The 5182 alloy aluminum tank truck is the latest high magnesium alloy tank truck born for the European road dangerous goods transportation agreement in recent years. Its tensile strength and elongation values are relatively high.

With 5182 alloy welding, the mechanical properties in the weld can reach the minimum specified for the base metal. The excellent quality of 5182 alloy improves the safety of aluminum tankers. And the thickness of the aluminum tanker can be reduced by 0.5-1mm compared with the thickness of the Al alloy 5083 when the diameter is the same.
