5454 Aluminum Sheet for Tank Truck
Energy saving, emission reduction and structural lightweight have become a global trend. Compared with steel, aluminum alloy tank trucks have the characteristics of low density, good corrosion resistance, easy welding, long service life, easy recycling, reduced emissions, and no charge accumulation. In recent years, aluminum alloy tank cars in Europe, the United States, Australia, Japan and other countries have reached more than 90%. The chose aluminum alloys are generally Al 5454, 5083 and 5182.
At present, most aluminum tank truck manufacturers mainly use 5083 aluminum alloy plate as the material of the tank body, and the use of 5182 plate can better reflect its corrosion resistance and welding performance, and under the same loading quality, the wall thickness of the tank body can be thinner and the weight is higher. In addition, 5454 aluminum plates can be used in high temperature environments, or transport high temperature liquids.
5454 aluminum alloy was used in tankers in the early 1950's and it has good corrosion resistance. 5454 aluminum properties are roughly the same as those of 5154, but its corrosion resistance is better than that of 5154 in severe environments. 5454 aluminum sheet has high strength, high corrosion resistance, good plasticity, and good formability. The strength of 5454 aluminum sheet is about 20% higher than that of 5052 aluminum sheet. 5454 aluminum sheet is also widely used in pressure vessels, marine facility pipelines and automobile wheels.
The magnesium content of 5454 aluminum plate is 2.4-3.0%, and it also contains a small amount of silicon, copper, zinc, manganese and other elements, and the tensile strength is greater than 215MPa. The magnesium content of 5052 aluminum plate is between 2.2-2.8%, and the tensile strength is 170-305MPa.
Compared with 5454 aluminum plate, it has a wider range of uses, especially in the construction industry. In addition, it is also commonly used in automotive fuel tanks, oil pipes, sheet metal parts of transportation vehicles, ships, mechanical instruments, hardware and electrical appliances, etc.
5454 aluminum sheet production process: The cold rolling processing rate is more than 70%. The annealing temperatures for O, H22, H24, H26, and H28 are 300°C, 260°C, 250°C, 230°C, and 200°C, respectively, and the holding time is 1 hour. The 5454 alloy H2n and O state produced by this process have stable properties and good formability, which meet the requirements of the EN485 standard.
