Alu 5083 VS 5754 for Tank Truck

5083 aluminum-magnesium alloy has excellent corrosion resistance, weldability, good cold workability, medium strength and good forming performance. The main tempers are O, H12, H14, H16, H18, H19, H22, H24, H26, H28, H32, H34, H36, H38, H111, H112, H114, H116, H321, etc. The commonly used tempers are H112/H116/H321, which are widely used in the production of tank truck bodies/tanks, automobile fuel tanks, bus skins, marine ship, etc.

5754 aluminum alloy is a typical aluminum alloy with medium strength, good welding performance, corrosion resistance and forming performance. It is widely used in automobiles, ships, aviation, aerospace and other fields. Aluminium 5754 h22 is its main temper.

5754 aluminum sheet coil an be used to make tank truck bodies and bulkheads, which can reduce the weight of tank trucks, increase load capacity, reduce fuel consumption, and reduce exhaust emissions. Moreover, 5754 aluminum plate has strong corrosion resistance and can greatly extend the service life of tank trucks. Therefore, it is favored by the tanker manufacturers.

The magnesium alloy content of 5754 aluminum plate is around 3%, and the magnesium alloy content of 5083 aluminum plate is as high as around 4.5%. At the same time, the hardness of 5083 aluminum plate is higher than that of 5754 aluminum plate. Of course, the price of 5083 aluminum plate is also higher.
